I took a good look at this because one of my dear friends, Ginger Fett, gets dick pics almost daily. She’s constantly pinging our group chat to announce, “Got another one!” We all laugh, and think, again? It doesn’t matter what dating site she’s on, she just keeps getting them.
Had she ever had interest in any of the men simply because she liked what she saw? Doubtful. Still, let's be scientific: I decided to break this topic into two categories—people who are looking for sex alone, and people who want a relationship. Both, oddly, think firing off a few dick pics is the best strategy for approaching that special someone.
For the swingers I know, dick pics actually do work. If length and thickness are a factor for someone looking for a one night stand, or fuck buddy, then a picture is handy right up front. If the size isn’t what that person is looking for, they move on.
Most the people I know, however, are looking for relationships, either as a casual ongoing sexy fling or something more serious. They don’t care about size as much as they do substance of the person. In this case, those sorts of pictures are problematic. If you’re clearly looking for a partnership, and what you’re sent is a photo of someone’s package, it sends a clear signal that your areas of interest might not be compatible.
Sending the obligatory dick pic.
There are also cases where the person might be open to a relationship or fuck buddy, therefore a dick picture may be okay. Since Ginger is open to both, I asked her if there were any times when the dick pic did work for her. If the larger-than-life photo did get the guy a date. Here’s what she had to say…
“No. Randomly dropped dick pics, or images sent in a conversation about puppies or something non-related, don’t work. They are a slap in the face. If it's agreed upon—as in you’ve been talking a while and it’s hot and asked for—then it's okay. If not, it's shocking, disgusting, and rude.” – Ginger Fett
In my own experience, I find these sorts of pictures to be irritating. My online dating profile clearly states what my interests are, and pictures of body parts will get the guy an instant rejection. If and when I ask for one, great! But until then, I see this as no different than a flasher on the street. It’s vulgar when not desired or warranted and will never get him a date with me.
The bottom line is this… Don’t send a picture of your dick unless the person asks for one. If they've said they want one, then feel free, but otherwise maybe just "hi" will do.
